Appearance
Very small and slender shark. Mouth is positioned ahead of the eyes. Barbels on throat present, as are spiracles. Origin of first dorsal fin over pelvic free rear tips.
Coloration
Back, tail, and caudal fin with about 10 dark saddles.
Distribution
Western Pacific: China and Philippines.
Biology
Little-known species. Lives close to the bottom over the continental shelf, down to a depth of about 180 m.
Diet
Unknown.
Size
Probably between 30 cm and 40 cm.
Reproduction
Probably aplacental viviparous (ovoviviparous).
Similar Species
Some species have a similar appearance and taxonomic features have to used to clearly distinguish among them.
