Colored Catsharks

The family Colored Catsharks was not defined as an independent family until 2022. It contains three genera that differ from catsharks both morphologically and molecularly to such an extent that they were assigned to their own family. From the outside, however, it is difficult to distinguish this family from the bristle shark and deepwater catshark families.
